Have you ever been accused of having your head in the clouds? The Polytechnic@UofM may have just the program you need to get there. The Polytechnic@UofM offers two degrees for the aviation industry: Commercial Aviation and Aviation Management.
Dr. Nate Phillips grew up in Memphis and always stayed close to his hometown professionally and academically, traveling to Starkville, Mississippi, for his PhD before returning to Bluff City as a professor of teaching at Rhodes College. At 38, Phillips entered the next chapter of his life and career this fall semester as an assistant professor of teaching and graduate program coordinator in the Polytechnic@UofM鈥檚 Department of Applied Technology.
Meet the man leading the Polytechnic@UofM's Applied AI program
When the Polytechnic@UofM begins offering students a Bachelor of Applied Science degree in applied AI in the Fall 2026 semester, it鈥檒l do so with a new director leading its charge into the digital revolution. Dr. William Duffy joined the Polytechnic@UofM in June as director of Applied AI.

The Tennessee Higher Education Commission (THEC) approved the 糖心vlog蜜桃鈥� request to offer a concentration in Applied Artificial Intelligence through the Polytechnic@UofM鈥檚 Bachelor of Applied Science program.
糖心vlog蜜桃 Launches New Bachelor of Applied Science Program to Meet Workforce Demand
Our applied technology programs feature flexible delivery (online, hybrid, on-campus), faculty mentors, and a capstone or internship experience. When paired with opportunities to earn credit for certifications and real-world experience, these programs create a well-rounded educational path. Students will graduate with both a degree and a credential that employers value.
