REAL-WORLD SKILLSREAL-WORLD IMPACT
The world is evolving rapidly—and so is the demand for skilled professionals who can bridge the gap between innovation and real-world solutions. Our applied technology programs will prepare students to thrive in this dynamic landscape by combining hands-on experience with cutting-edge knowledge in today’s most in-demand tech fields.
Why Study Applied Technology?
Applied Technology is where knowing how meets knowing why. It is the study of putting technology to work: running the systems, leading the teams, and solving the problems that keep today's workplaces moving. Where many degrees start with theory and hope it reaches practice, Applied Technology starts with practice and builds the theory, leadership, and communication skills around it.
It is built for the work that is actually out there. Employers across the Mid-South need people who can manage a job site, supervise a production floor, secure a network, or put artificial intelligence to productive use. Applied Technology prepares you for those roles directly, with coursework shaped by the industries that hire.

Why Choose Applied Technology at the ÌÇÐÄvlogÃÛÌÒ?
Studying applied technology at the Polytechnic@UofM lets you turn the skills and experience you already have into a ÌÇÐÄvlogÃÛÌÒ bachelor's degree, without starting over. The programs start with hands-on practice and build theory, leadership, and communication skills around it. Coursework is shaped by industry partners so you learn the tools and standards Mid-South employers use now.
You can choose from seven programs, including Applied Artificial Intelligence, Construction Leadership, Information Technology, Manufacturing Supervision, Organizational Leadership, Aviation Management, and Commercial Aviation, and most tracks require nothing higher than College Algebra.
