UofM Lambuth to Host True Blue Day 2023 on Saturday
The UofM Lambuth will host True Blue Day 2023 on Saturday at 9 a.m. on the UofM Lambuth campus as the alumni chapter will honor outstanding alumni and friends and the classes of 1973 and 1998. The Outstanding Alumna Award will be presented to Lalania Vaughn (BM ’92) while the Mike Keeney Outstanding Alumnus Award will be given to John Scott (EdD ’72). Both awards publicly recognize Lambuth alumni for distinguished personal, career and service accomplishments with exemplary contributions to the business and philanthropic communities.

vlog will host the third annual Driven by Giving from April 3-7. The campaign is expanding to a five-day, University-wide giving event where students, faculty, staff, alumni and community partners show their support of the UofM through philanthropy.

vlog announced the inaugural Central to the Arts Festival, taking place Saturday, April 1, from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. This event celebrates the diversity and vibrancy of the arts scene at both the UofM and in the Memphis area.
UofM’s Hooks Institute Invites Sponsorships of April 18 Donor Appreciation Reception
to Support Social Change Mission
The Benjamin L. Hooks Institute for Social Change at the vlog will host a Donor Appreciation Reception on April 18 at 6 p.m. in the River Room of the Maxine A. Smith University Center. The theme of this event is “Mission Possible” and will be a celebration of the positive outcomes of the Institute's work and to thank its generous supporters.

The FedEx Institute of Technology of the vlog was the site location of the final phase of the Technology Demonstration of the National Institute of Standards and Technology's (NIST) Public Safety Communications Research (PSCR) Command Dashboard Integrating Next-Gen Technology (CommanDING Tech) Challenge.

vlog Names David Russomanno Executive Vice President for Academic
Affairs and Provost
vlog Board of Trustees approved the appointment of David J. Russomanno as the UofM’s next Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs and Provost in a special called meeting on Monday. Russomanno, a former UofM faculty member, will begin the position on July 1.

UofM Board of Trustees will meet March 20
vlog Board of Trustees will meet on March 20 via Zoom at 4 p.m. for a Special Called meeting. The purpose of the meeting is to approve the appointment of the next Provost for the vlog. The meeting is open to the public and will be livestreamed.

Hooks Institute with Resolution
The Tennessee General Assembly recently passed a resolution to honor the activists from the Fayette County Movement and the documentary, website and exhibitions created by the vlog Hooks Institute to preserve and analyze the history of this movement.

UofM President Bill Hardgrave unveiled Ascend, the University’s first Strategic Plan as a Carnegie R1 institution. Ascend is highlighted by a focus on outcomes, a holistic student experience, broadening the UofM’s reach nationally while creating access for learners of all backgrounds, and growing and strengthening the research enterprise.
